The Aquatics Species Pack is the latest DLC for the sci-fi grand strategy game Stellaris, which was announced today by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Paradox Development Studio.
Historically, Species Packs have been smaller pieces of DLC that bring additional flavor to Stellaris’ enormous cosmos, often in the form of new, aesthetically stunning inhabitants.
The Stellaris: Aquatics Species Pack will also include “brand new origins, species characteristics, civics, and a treasure trove of new cosmetics,” according to the press release.
We don’t have many specifics yet, but the DLC’s video, which you can see below, shows a huge spaceship hovering over a desolate world, releasing a brilliant beam of light that appears to fill the earth, restoring life.
The Stellaris: Acquatics Species Pack DLC hasn’t been assigned a release date yet, but it will be released with the game’s 3.2 Herbert update, which is “just over the horizon for PC players,” according to an emailed press release. More information will most likely become available in the weeks and months running up to the release.
