Three reasons why the Philadelphia Eagles could make the playoffs

The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the hottest teams in football, and they have a big chance to make it to the playoffs this year. They face some pretty tough opponents like New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys, but if they can get out of these games with a win or tie then their chances will be boosted greatly. Here is why they could make it happen!

The “did the eagles make the playoffs 2020” is a question that has been circulating around social media. The Philadelphia Eagles could make the playoffs in 2020 if they follow these 3 steps.

DENVER (AP) — In the NFL, the wind may change direction fast.

On their way out of Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday night, a group of Broncos fans bemoaned the team’s 30-13 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, dropping Denver to 5-5 and relegating the team’s blazing 3-0 start to the past.

“If the Eagles can do that to them, [coach] Vic Fangio has got to go!” one fan said.

Similar discontent has been expressed in Philadelphia for most of the season, as the Eagles have struggled to a 2-5 start under first-year coach Nick Sirianni. However, they’ve won two of their previous three games, created an attacking identity in the process, and now have a little of confidence. Despite all of the tribulations and hand-wringing over the previous ten weeks, they were just one game behind in the quest for the last NFC wild-card berth on Sunday.

Playoffs? It seems to be insane. However, the 4-6 Eagles’ chances are increasing. After Sunday’s victory, the Eagles have a 25.4 percent chance of reaching the playoffs, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.

Here are three reasons why Philadelphia is a legitimate contender.

This week’s essentials include: • Check out the full schedule » | Check out the standings » • Every team’s depth chart » • Injuries » | Transactions » • Rankings of the Football Power Index » Additional NFL coverage »

According to FPI, the Eagles have the second-easiest closing schedule, behind only the Tennessee Titans. They won’t fly again for the rest of the regular season, and they’ll play four of their remaining seven games at home. (All four of Philadelphia’s victories have come on the road, although that’s more due to the caliber of the opposition.)

They still have two games left against the New York Giants (3-6) and the Washington Football Team (3-6), as well as a game against the New York Jets (2-7). Who knows, the regular-season finale versus the Dallas Cowboys might be inconsequential in terms of postseason placement for Dallas. In any case, there are victories to be achieved in the last seven games.

Tiebreakers: The New Orleans Saints (5-4) and Carolina Panthers (5-5) would be the last two NFC wild-card teams if the season ended today. As bubble teams, the Minnesota Vikings (4-5) and Atlanta Falcons (4-5) sit slightly ahead of the Eagles.

Philadelphia leads the Panthers and Falcons in head-to-head tiebreakers, having defeated each this season. The game versus the Saints at home this week is crucial. With a victory, they’ll have the tiebreaker edge over three of the clubs vying for a playoff spot. The Eagles were 1 1/2-point favorites against the Saints at the start of the game.

Finding their formula: Over the past three weeks, the Eagles have shifted their focus to the ground game, and as a result, they’ve become a different squad. They’ve picked up an astonishing 626 rushing yards on 125 runs in three games, for an average of 42 carries for 209 yards per game, relying on their formidable offensive front to lead the way.

It has relieved some of the strain on the defense and quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is in the middle of his greatest run as a pro to date.

At the very least, they should be competitive in every game if they keep to their identity. This should keep them in the postseason conversation for the remainder of the season.

The “eagles playoff chances” is a question that has been asked by many people. The Philadelphia Eagles have the potential to make the playoffs this year, but there are 3 reasons why they could potentially miss out.
